Seth: Chris, I'm fresh off our initial foray into the Xbox Live universe, and I am feeling so many new feelings. Here are the moments I enjoyed most: 1) I liked how—just so we could log on and play the shoot'em-up game Halo 2—I had to spend 10 minutes downloading ancillary programs, including something called the "Killtacular Map Pack." 2) I liked how, when we finally started, I was killed within eight seconds. Then I came back to life in another part of the game … and was again killed within eight seconds. I don't think I ever survived longer than 20 seconds. At one point I accidentally detonated something (maybe a plasma grenade) right next to myself. In that instance, I committed suicide before other players had a chance to kill me. .

Maine Black-balled: New coach cuts Lawrence's Colon, pulls scholarship
The quote came minutes after McInerney, then coach at the University of Maine, signed Lawrence High's Tiffany Colon to a full scholarship to play basketball for the Black Bears.
Lawrence burst with pride that day. Colon became the first Lancer, boy or girl, to ever earn a full Division 1 basketball scholarship.
She was the poster-child for hard work as a means to pull herself off the streets and build a bright future.
Four free years at a university, playing ball and learning life's lessons. Just 17 months later, Colon has learned a lesson all right.
In mid-September, a month before the official start of practice, McInerney's replacement on the Black Bear bench, Cindy Blodgett, told the 19-year-old sophomore there wouldn't be a spot for her on the team.

THE NZ Consular should pay their own FIFA ass. as they were the ones who refused to issue a visa for Tamanisau not the Fiji Govt. As biased as it may be, end of the day, NZ embassy is the issuer. Stephan to M25 of of United Kingdom (63 days and 1 hour ago) M25, get a grip, man! Don't make comments like that unless you can show that the visa being denied to the GK stopped the "killing". And if someone wants proof how much the international community abhors "killing", think back to what the whole world did to the 100 days (yes, 100 days) of absolute terror and nightmare which occured in Rwanda some years ago. Just get some perspective, please! M25 minus 25 of Fiji (63 days and 1 hour ago) does giving a NZ visa to a football player got anything to do with killing a fijian....goshh....
A big tax blunder
In my district alone, which represents one-fourth of the state, security deposits worth more than $4 million were improperly withheld from more than 600 businesses. Some deposits were withheld for more than four years.
Why is this happening? Unlike that income tax refund your family anticipates and budgets, tax security deposits are held for so long that many small-business owners forget they exist -- and don't remember when their refund is due. The tax security deposit restrictions are buried in the mountain of forms and paperwork in a seller's permit application. New businesses, especially those with nonnative English-speaking owners, often fail to understand the deposit's terms and conditions.
But a small-business owner's right to that refund shouldn't be dependent on his or her good memory.
